Due to the differences between browsers and even different versions of the same browser, you may receive an error when clicking on the Print Check icon - such as a broken graphic icon or an error stating that the page can not be downloaded or found.
Adobe/Internet Explorer PDF Issue
Sometime recently Adobe Reader did an automatic update that has caused problems with printing and/or downloading Vcheck PDF files using certain versions of the Internet Explorer (IE) browser. If you receive any type of error message or unusual dialog boxes when attempting to print or download a check, the only sure fix to this is to use a different browser or PDF Viewer.
You can have more than one browser on your computer. If you want to keep IE as your default browser - you can. Just download and install one of the below and use it to access Vcheck:
FireFox or Google Chrome browser.
The easier option is to install a cleaner, faster, more efficient PDF Viewer (you will have to make it your default program for PDF files). We highly recommend the FREE PDF x-Change Viewer. Doing either of the above will fix this problem.
It's sometimes possible to fix this error by launching the Adobe Reader program directly (this may only work for later versions), going to the Edit - Preferences menu, and under Categories, select Internet and UN-checking the box that says Display PDF in browser. Click OK, close Adobe and try the Print icon again. You can also use the FireFox or Chrome browser and/or PDF X-change Reader to fix this problem - see notes at the bottom of this page.
If that doesn't work - you must use the Download icon to either download the file (see above) and then open it into Adobe Reader - or select the Open option in the download dialog box:
Click on the Download icon
the dialog box below will appear - click the Open button:
You may get a second dialog box asking you to confirm your choice. Click the Open button again. This will download the pdf file and automatically send it to Adobe Reader. Once opened in Adobe, you may print the check.
This error NEVER occurs with the FireFox Browser. You may consider using it instead - it's free at FireFox.Com. If you dont' want to give up Internet Explorer, you don't have to - both can be installed on the same machine and IE can still be your default browser. Just install FireFox and bookmark the Vcheck Control Panel and use FireFox only for Vcheck. Another good option is Google's Chrome browser - it is very fast, free, and can be downloaded from here.
Another option is to replace the bulky, slow-loading Adobe PDF Reader with the free PDF Xchange Reader. First, you may uninstall the Adobe Reader (recommended) or leave it installed, then go to this page and download the most current version of the PDF-Xchange Viewer (the EXE Installer) file and install once downloaded. If asked if you want to make PDF Xchange your default PDF Viewer, say Yes.
